Key Takeaways
Bilt Rewards are quickly becoming valuable in the points and miles world, but only if you’re a renter.
- Earn up to 100,000 points in rewards from your monthly rent payments by putting it on the Bilt Mastercard
- There is no annual fee or extra charge for doing this as Bilt acts as an intermediary and sends a check if your landlord doesn’t accept credit cards or charges a fee for using one
- You can then cash those points in for high value redemptions
- Bilt has an impressive array of transfer partners that rivals Chase and American Express, so you can turn that rent payment into free airfare and/or hotel stays pretty easily

How to Earn Points
Note: Bilt has announced a major refresh to the Bilt Mastercard coming in February 2026. Applications are paused until then. Two new cards are also planned, and Bilt has confirmed mortgage payments will also earn points. We will update this page as details are released.
You can join Bilt Rewards for free and earn points on rent if your property is in the Bilt Alliance Network of more than 2 million units in the United States. Paying rent through the Bilt app or website earns 250 points per payment, once per month.
To maximize earnings, open the Bilt Mastercard. With it, you earn:
- 1x points on rent, up to 100,000 points per year
- 3x points on dining, up to 5x at Bilt Neighborhood Dining Partners
- 5x points on Lyft rides
- 2x points on travel purchases
You can still earn 1x points on rent even if your landlord does not accept credit cards. Bilt will send payment by check or ACH at no extra cost.
Remember: you must make at least five purchases per month with your Bilt Mastercard to earn any points, so do not use it only for rent.

How to Redeem Points
Using Bilt’s transfer partners is the best way to get maximum value for your Bilt points. That’s always where we recommend starting, so be sure to check out our sweet spots for Bilt partners. Bilt also has a travel portal that can offer decent redemptions, and it has one other unique option worth mentioning.
Bilt Travel Portal
You can book travel through the Bilt Travel Portal at a value of 1.25 cents per point. It’s not the best redemption, but it’s not bad either. This wouldn’t be our first choice because Bilt’s transfer partners offer better value, but booking travel that isn’t possible with transferable miles, like rental cars or cruises, can be a good use of points when you’d rather not pay cash.
Down Payment
You can use Bilt points toward a down payment on a home purchase at a 1.5 cent per point rate. This can only be done in the United States and only once per home purchase. It wouldn’t be our first choice, but it’s a unique option worth mentioning.
What you shouldn’t do
These redemptions offer poor value compared to transferring to partners, so we don’t recommend using Bilt points this way.
- Student loan repayments: Redeem at 1 cent per point.
- Gift cards: Redeem at 0.7 cents per point at best.
- Cash back/statement credit: Redeem at 0.55 cents per point.
- Lyft rides: Apply points at checkout for 0.7 cents per point.
- Amazon: Redeem for 0.7 cents per point.
